View Full Version : My 722k has lost its gourd

Not sure if anyone's seen this, but my 722k has decided to skip recordings arbitrarily, and then pretend as if they were never there in the first place. The DH missed game 1 of football yesterday because of it. Tonight, I had both Chuck and House to tape at the same time. I looked at the channel guide while they were recording, and both had solid red "recording" dots on their respective channels. The DVR menu only showed Chuck as recording. Now that the recording time is past, Chuck has recorded, and no sign of House. The online remote access doesn't show House anywhere - recorded, skipped, conflicts, etc. It's pretending I never had it set to record.

I'm going to try the overnight power cord reset and see if it's just glitching, but has anyone else seen this?

No, I haven't seen this behavior from either my 622 or 722, but I have been very lucky and rarely have anything "funny" happen. The hard boot should fix it, but if it doesn't, I don't know what could be happening.

Good luck!

As a quick update, we checked the DVR menu on the actual 722, and two of our shows (House and AFC) showed "Signal Loss Detected". Which is strange because the weather's been fine and other things that did record that time. Also, if y'all remember, a few months back I had crazy troubles with my equipment, and the Dish tech replaced everything in the line from the LNBs to the back of the receiver, and he repositioned the dish for us, so I doubt it'd spontaneously start failing again.

For another thing that's missing from the recording list, the status shows as "Event Completed" but it's not anywhere in the playback list. Yarg.

As a follow-up, the hard reset seemed to fix it. The underlying cause, we suspect, was that TV2 went bonkers and decided it didn't have a signal. *shrug* Gremlins, I tell ya!
