I have a wireless router upstairs and was wondering if I could somehow use it to connect to my DVR and get on Demand. What would i need to get that set up if its possible?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Some wireless routers can also function as bridges, or can do so with 3rd party firmware like that from dd-wrt. What brand and model do you have?

is it easiest to just buy the kit from DTV that plugs into the outlet? The wireless gaming adapter may be the easiest method. The HomePlug adapter is about the same but you have to place two of them.

It is likely that either technology can outrun your Internet connection in terms of bandwidth.

Many Linksys wireless routers CAN be used as wireless bridges, you simply replace the Linksys firmware with 3rd party firmware like that from dd-wrt. Need your specific model number.

I am not a fan of powerline solutions, but what works best will vary greatly with your individual setup. Powerline can work if the two outlets are on the same circuit. Wireless can work well but results vary by distance.

Why not run some ethernet cable?
Also, sometime in the future DirecTV will have their version of ethernet-over-coax available for purchase.

Whatever you do, plan for the future (e.g. MRV & streaming video). You can never have too much bandwidth available.
