View Full Version : Cheapest Superstations Question...
What is the easiest and cheapest way to obtain a DishNetwork receiver and subscrption for one who wants only the superstations pack and possibly the national networks?
I have DirecTV, but would like to get the Superstations and Nationwide channels from DishNetwork without having to pay for a new receiver and the Top 50 packs.
Thanks,
Morgan

Assuming you can install yourself, just buy a 301 system from Wally World - around here they go for around $145. (since WW is just cash & carry, & doesn't make you sign a contract, no worries about any prog/time commitments) Then just subscribe to the superstations & any local/distant nets you qualify for. E* will charge you an additional $5 monthly, but you WON'T need to take an AT pak.

Wally World is slang for Walmart, since trying to get through Walmart is an adventure...

You can buy a used receiver and a used DirecTv receiver or Dish 300 in which are much cheaper since you only need to point at 119 to receiver the SuperStations. You could probably purchase this outfit for under $100, maybe a lot less and it would cost $10.99 for the package if you take that itself without any other channels on Dish Network. If you can get your locals in your area then a Dish500 may be required but can be purchased at Wal-Mart for $149 or less and be had for the same price as the SuperStations and you may get WB and/or UPN in the locals package as well.

Are you sure you qualify for distant national networks? You have to be in a so-called "white" area. Did you put your zip code in the network qualifier on the website? I assume you're getting locals thru DirecTV so you can't get the distants from them.
