View Full Version : pauses while watching recorded event

I am not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but I just had my PVR721 replaced and the new one is still doing this, although nowhere near as often.

While viewing a recorded event, there are short pauses in video on playing, a couple of seconds.

Plus, if this is happening and I select the PVR menu or something similar, that I guess requires access to the hard disk, it causes the video to pause or freeze for a second or two.

It's like my old PC which was to slow, and if you had one program running, and tried to run another, the system would bog down.

Any idea what is going on ?
I do hope this is not another bad receiver.
Thanks
Tony

No sadly this is normal. Its not a big issue for me since the PVR service is free. But I will nEVER buy another E receiver and pay for a service that isnt flawless.

Bout that really sucks. You would figure they would have done a better job especially considering the cost of the 721.

Is there any way to pass this along to Dish Network ?

I have similar experiences on my 721 also. I agree it acts like a processor has too much to do and locks up occasionally.

Ditto here. I especially like it when it doesn't come back from the pauses every now and then and reboots (only happens during playback of recorded events while two timers are doing their magic)
