508 warranty

How long can I wait till I need to buy the extended warrenty for my 508?
The original is good for a year,right?
So can i just wait till a few weeks before the one year is up then contact dish?
Im kinda doubting it will last a year,it has its episodes :lol:

Yeah its one year. Expect failures they do occur. Dont e without the warranty.

I just added the extended warranty to my system. Ordered a used 508 off of ebay for 199 plus 25 S/H. I figure that I can't own a 508 without it. Also, this will also cover my 4 301's DP64 switch and quad DP LNB. The total that I have in dish equipment is now up to $800

So can i just wait till a few weeks before the one year is up then contact dish?Extended warranties become effective 30 days after you start them up, so I'd expect you'd want to call them about a month before your original warranty expires.
