Just wondering,

Any local markets (be they new or existing markets), that might end up at 105 location - what happens to those customers and Free Dish / Free SuperDish?

Is free Dish only for the side satellites locals such as at 148 and/or 61.5?
Or it includes 105 as well for a Free Dish "deal"?
Is 105 a Side location BTW? (Somehow i do not think so)

No pricing structure has been announced for the SuperDISH. They are not required to provide a free dish unless the locals for a market require more than one dish.

I see - and i guess they will try to make sure that the locals in any market at 105 will not be required 2nd side dish :)

John - when your Phily Locals were at 129, that Bigger Dish that was required for 129 worked OK with the current Dishnet's switches?

Yeah. They are still there and would work now if I so chose to use them, at least on the 301. Some receivers did not get the software upgrade for the 4 sat configuration.

I wonder how they would market the SuperDish in those cities that they would be adding the local markets to and advertising that your locals are now available and you can get your satellite system for free. What would they do then about those that wanted the locals and would expect the SuperDish for free? Complains to Better Business Bureau and Attorney General if you do not give the customer the free SuperDish for misleading the public?

Maybe no more DISH 500. Maybe all new would get SuperDISH. Too early to tell.

That is what I had been thinking for a while but some may not need the SuperDish and a LOT of people would get upset at the size of dish that would be required. Since most purchase their local stations do you think that it would make since for them to pack the SuperDish with all the systems in those markets with locals that require that dish? I seen someone post that DirecTv packs their ParaTodos oval dish in all the systems in the markets that require that dish for their locals.

I suspect new subs in those local markets on 105 will likely get a Free SuperDish upgrade if they agree to sub to their locals along with their basic package commitment. Those subs who do not want to pay $5-$5.99 for their locals and get them Free ota will simply get a Dish500. I suspect their will be a deal for current subs to upgrade as well, since E* is going to the trouble and expense of placing these locals on satellite they will want to make it easy to get them.

I would not see how it would make sense for Dish to pack a Dish500 with all the systems when many customers will want the locals when they first activate. This would cause Dish to provide a Dish500 in addition to the SuperDish in those markets when the Dish500 is not needed.
