I don't know if this is old news or not but the new Channel 101 mentions an "Easy Remote". This remote has fewer buttons, just the basic ones you need. No VCR, AUX, or other things like that. No picture available.

Old news - this remote was introduced in a "Charlie Chat"...

The small remotes that came with the 2800's for a while before they quit making them is probably just as simple if not more simple than the ''simple remote''

Jacob S the simple remote is a little better than the 2800 it also operates the TV and has a suggested retail of $19.00. Most dealers can't afford to sell it though by the time they pay DISH for shipping it costs more than it's retail price.

Yes, I know the simple remote operates the tv as well and is better for those that do want to operate the tv along with the satellite receiver but those that do not want to operate the tv and other devices with the same remote but with seperate remotes then the dedicated remote would be a better choice for those customers. The new remote that is coming with the 322 and 522 receivers look good though because you can lock out the tv and other functionalities on the remote to where it will work only the satellite mode if I read the information correctly and the second remote (in which is a UHF) that comes with the receivers will work up to 200 feet away from the receiver through walls and all.

Yes, the new remotes are UHF Pro, but are not compatible with the old UHF frequencies. So the new remotes will not work with the older receivers.

EZ remote provides functional buttons that will take a customer from off air locals to dish channels with just press of a button, the remote has a programmed macro to tune tv/rcvr to certain inputs and channels in order to make sure the customer doesn't get on the wrong input or channel. Works quite nicely, but is a pain to setup at the beginning.
