I keep having problems with my system..... The receiver died and now the picture keeps freezing up.... The dealer came by and said it was probably the LNB but not sure.... This is unbelievable..... I can't keep this crap up so I'm gonna go back to Time Warner.... I hate Time Warner but it doesn't cost me when the equipment breaks down..... Not to mention I get 100.00 and digital cable for 39.99 for one year.... They have all the channels on my directv plus the Tennis Channel..... I will miss the directv but not the bad luck I keep having with the system.....

I just wanted to say thanks for the all the info given to me..... This is one good site.....

DISH Network (Disclaimer: I do not work for or own stock in Echostar, blah blah blah) has a rental plan called Digital Home Plan. You rent each receiver for $5. You do not own the receivers. If they break down because of reasons not your own (ie, it just died, without provacation), then you get a replacement. If the DISH breaks I guess you get a replacement. You pay $50 and then that gets credited back on your bill. Your first 3 months of service are free too I think. You have to commit for a year but after that you can remove receivers at your will or dump an AT package and still do the rental plan. You can add a PVR at any time for $49.99 self-installed. (still rented though)
