Hi folks,

I'm trying to reduce my monthly costs and I'm considering dropping the Superstations....Why, because I don't even know what channels are included so it's a good bet I'm not watching them.

I know it WGN...KLTA? thanks.

WPIX, WWOR, WSBK, KTLA AND KWGN. WGN in Chicago is not part of the Superstations pack.

Note that as the superstations are all CW network stations, their network programming may also be subject to preemption at the request of your local affiliate.

Sadly none are currently available in HD, either, aside from as part of their associated locals package. :(

Well 3 out of the 5 are CW, one of the NY channels is a MyNet and the Boston one is an independent last I knew.

To clarify, WPIX, KTLA, and KWGN are CW stations. WSBK is independent, and WWOR is a MyNetwork affiliate.

KBCW told Dish to remove KTLA from my service in January 2009. I had KTLA for 9 years. I liked to watch LA news.

If they don't add the HD feeds in the next month or so I'm contemplating dropping the Superstation package after having it for 10 years. Watching SD is too painful :)

You do have the option of subscribing to the superstation channels individually for $1.50 each. I subscribe to KWGN and WSBK only for some of the syndicated programming they carry. We already get WPIX as part of our locals package for CW since there is no local affiliate in our area.

Well you might as well drop them because that's not happening.

The people in those cities are the only ones that can get those stations in HD because they're in their locals. I wouldn't be surprised to see Superstations dropped as more people buy HD sets.

I hope not! I'll take them in SD even if that's the only way available. I have them for the news from NY, LA, Denver, and Boston, and something is better than nothing...
