Recording Problem

Hopefully this is in the right thread. Apologies if it's not.

On Sunday night (I believe it was Sunday) all of the receivers in my house powered down at once and did some type of update. I checked them all, and all 4 (2sd and 1HDDVR and 1SDDVR) were rebooting.

Since then my R16-300 has been recording all episodes of the shows I had set as first run only. The only way I could get it back on track was to go in and delete the series recording and set it up again new. I tried to edit the series recordings before this, they had all been reset to "both", and over the night after resetting the old series it continued to record all episodes of my shows.

Any word on this? If this has/is being discussed elsewhere please let me know.

seems strange that they would all get updated at one time.

could you post the model numbers for all rcvrs

Sometomes after such a situation, the guide data goes through an update period that can last 24 hours or so. The programs you have set to record may show up in the guide, but not all of the information populates right away and the "first run" versus "repeat" data is part of the data that lags. Therefore, you can see some repeats show up in the ToDo list for shows you are recording first run only. This should clear up as the guide data continues to populate - usually no more than a day or so.

That's right. See if the problem persists past 36 hours and if so, try resetting the affected receivers.

The problem is, it was over 24 hours since I made the edits to my series recording and it's still doing it (or I should say it was). I deleted and reentered many of the series tonight so we will see what happens tomorrow.

I think they just rebooted. With all the different types of receivers they wouldn't all update at the same time.

Too strange. I would bet the power winked just enough to start a reboot or a loss of signal reboot. I wonder if any/all receivers were on a UPS?
