Has anyone tried to install a KaKu dish on a power riser recently? I seem to remember someone who did that, and posted here, with pictures. He seemed to think it was a pretty neat idea. :( We all thought it was a crazy idea, and said so.:eek2: I wonder if he is still around,

I took a look at that thread and there I was mentioning a CATV setting where it was done ...mid span to service mast...It looked ok and the CATV cables all ended up about 18' below power and about mid way between power and telco. The power riser was a clear no-no but was made ok by the "everybody else was doing it' rule.
Now that I think back on that deal.....I was given eight or ten aerial installations that day...the sun was going down and I had read about PrimeStar.......and left the next week for the world of satellite installation.
But not on a power riser!

At least it was REAL close to the electrical service ground :)

Would that method work with the Slimline dish?

It is a violation of NEC code and potentially a big fine to attach such items to a power riser.
