On ekb.dbstalk.com it states the following: "Channel 240 which was showing Ohio Tax (www.stopthetax.com) info is now showing The Sportsman Channel. The EPG remains TXINF. (anon) This channel is not visible by subscribers. "
Does this mean that The Sportsman Channel is coming soon on Dish Network?

That's the general idea :)
When something is being tested - good chance it will become available to subscribers some day

New channels and national line up changes are typically done on Wednesdays, so keep an eye out this wednesday or next.

I know the channel is there since the anonymous source has been spot on with all previous information. But I can't remember the last time a channel was tested on a channel number other than the one it would end up on. I am about as certain that this channel would not end up on 240 as I am about anything else. The channel would probably end up on 154 or 155.
Looking at the archive of changes (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/247) to the channel chart (www.dishchannelchart.com), there is only one occasion I could find that had a channel listed somewhere other than the channel it ended up on. One of them was Wisdom Network which was listed on channel 199 on the "hidden guide". But the channel was never uplinked to that channel. When it first showed up, it showed up on the channel it resides in now.
I can think of miriad other reasons for the channel being there other than it actually being added to the line-up.
Only time will tell. but I would think that the hidden channel would move to the 150's before it would show up to subscribers.

Could any of you hunting & fishing types explain how The Sportsman Channel is different from Outdoor Like Network and The Outdoor Channel? It would help me feel more positive that Dish might be adding this instead of PBS Kids or Trio.

I am far from an "outdoor type". My idea of roughing it is staying in a hotel that doesn't have an ice machine. But:
Outdoor Life Network.
Hiking, Biking, Skiing, Camping, RV-ing, Communing with nature, sight-seeing, Nature guides, Rodeo, Outdoor (human powered) sports...cliff diving, nature challange, triathelon, etc., (inanimate) targate shooting, Field & Stream TV (from the magazine of the same name)
The Outdoor Channel
Hunting (bow/riffle/black powder, big game/foul/small game) fishing, motor sport racing, 4x4 racing, ATV advice and repair, prospecting for gold and other precious metals, Guns and Amo TV (A show by the magazine of the same name).
The Sportsman Channel
"All Hunting, All Fishing, All the Time" is what it says on the web site.
So the Outdoor channel and the Sportsman Channel are similar in target audience (as it were)...but OLN is VERY different from those two. But still I wouldn't lump them together. Some people like Much Music better, others like MTV better.
As to PBS Kids, Charlie has said three times so far, that the channel is too expensive and will not add it unless PBS drops the price. If you qualify for PBS National for $1 a month, you get PBS Kids for 12-15 hours a day!

Here in Connecticut our Tax Info channel is still up showing the same screens telling us to fight the tax.
Unfortunately the tax was passed (along with a tun of other new taxes) and now the Gov just needs to sign it. :eek2: :nono2:

I read somewhere that cable tv in Connecticut already has a smiler tax and the satellite version is just an equalizer, is this true? If it is, will satellites tax be the same, more or less then cable tax? Just curious.
