ive got a samsung series 6 TV, and programmed the DTV remote w/ it's codes. everything works, but the volume control only goes in one step increments. ie- assuming the volume is on 20 now, on the factory remote if i just hold volume up it will keep advancing 21, 22, 23, 24, etc until i let go. With the DTV remote it seems to only send a single burst when I press it and it'll jump from 20 to 21 and then stop. Another press will go from 21 to 22. this makes it painful to adjust the volume. anyone found a way around this?
Try some of the other Samsung codes, you'll find one that works properly. I (and others) have had the same problem. The first code (that works the power on/off) is not the correct code to use.

thats sure an easy fix. I, naively apparently, stopped looking once i found the one that turned it on and off and seemingly 'worked' lol
thanks!!

Looks like you got it working but for furture reference for you and anyone else looking
10060 is the code that partially works causing the volume button to have to be tapped each time
10702 is the one that allows you to hold it
I end up reprogramming at least 75% of samsung tvs I see on service calls

I find that 10702 is one notch at a time, while 10812 you can hold.

Weird. I have never used 10812, always 10702 and its always a hold. It has never failed me once. Now I can't wait to see another Samsung TV so I can test the 10812 code.
We have the same volume control problem with our master bedroom TV. Our other 2 Samsung TVs work correctly.
I'm sure this is a dumb question, but how do I go about putting a new code in? Do I need the Samsung remote or can I use the DTV remote?

2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 1 0 8 1 2 or 1 0 7 0 2

Per the remote manual:
PROGRAMMING TO CONTROL YOUR TV
Now that you have successfully programmed the new
DIRECTV remote to operate your DIRECTV Receiver, you
will want to program this remote to control your TV.
1. Turn the TV on.
NOTE: Please read steps 2-5 completely before proceeding.
Highlight or write down the codes and component you wish to
program before moving on to step 2.
2. Locate the 5-digit code for your TV (see pages 13-16).
3. Move the slide switch to TV.
4. Press and hold in the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light under the TV icon flashes twice
and then release both keys.
5. Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code for your
brand of TV. If performed correctly the green light
under TV will flash twice.
6. Aim the remote at your TV and press the power key
once. The DIRECTV Receiver should turn off. If it does
not turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying each code for
your brand until you find the correct code.
PROGRAMMING THE TV INPUT KEY
Once you have programmed the DIRECTV remote control for
your TV, you may want to activate the TV Input button.
1. Move the slide switch to the position under TV icon.
2. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green
light under the TV icon flashes twice and then release
both keys.
3. Using the number keys enter in 9-6-0 (The green light
under the TV icon will flash twice)
You now have the ability to control the Input select feature for
your TV.
WOW...like magic, it works :)
thanx, matt1124 (as well as Edmund)...i just needed a little more detail on how to do it
much appreciated
