I'm having a heck of a time figuring out whats wrong...please help!! Transponders 13,14,15 on Satellite A seem to drop significantly at times with my Toshiba HD DST-3000 receiver(89 normal 60-65 when it drops, no other transponders drop signal strength). I flop back and forth to check things with my standard RCA receiver. The RCA NEVER has problems with these transponders. The HD Toshiba has problems now and then but not consistent. The comedy channel 249 and TLC 280 can't hold a picture when this happens, I can't identify any other channels that struggle.

A little over a month ago my Toshiba was having major problems and I sent it in for repairs. Took like 4-5 weeks and I just got it back. It couldn't receive any signal at all when I sent it back. It seems to have no problems, now, other than these 3 transponders and its random as to when it drops/starts.

I know one of my LNBs was bad, I'm using a dish with 2 LNB and have connected the second. I have replacement LNBs and having a installer coming out to replace the lnb units in a few days.

Does this current problems sound like LNB or receiver problems?

I KNOW when the repair guy comes the satellite will be showing no signs of problems and I'll have no way of recreating the problem for him to diagnose.

Thanks

If there was a problem with the satellite receiver then wouldnt more transponders fail then a selected few? Maybe it could also be your wiring. If a receiver is bad then it will be odd or even transponders that will go bad. With a bad lnbf I would think that all transponders would not work.

If you have two receivers on the same dish it is the same LNBF feeding both receivers. Problems in the LNBF should affect both receivers look for a cable problem or an internal problem with the Toshiba.

I agree with Jacob and Bob. I would inspect my coax.
