One more try!
I asked the question, politely, and I get snide comments but no person knows the answer? I am a bit surprised! This infringement must be very basic or it would be worked around, so no-one knows??
The point: If the infringement is basicly a 'concept', such as 'time-shifting', which is a fairly nebulous concept in the sense that, many of us have 'time shifted' TV (and music for 100 years) for many years, its called a VCR, (or is it 'pause' a while and then play-time shifting) and what video recording device is NOT a 'time shifter' to some extent, then????! (but I do not dare say that the infringement is 'time shifting' but it must be basic to a DVR functionality)
But since apparently no one on this forum knows the exact 'functionality' that Dish has infringed upon, then well, will there be ANY more E* DVR's unless blessed with Tivo approved code?
IE- will the VIP 922 be delayed until this 'infringement' is somehow worked around or agreed to by Tivo/courts?
