View Full Version : Sabres vs. Capitals on 658-1???

Right now the guide is showing this evening Sabres vs. Caps game as being on channel 638 (in SD), 658-1 (in HD), as well as 642 for (SD/HD). The 638 and 642 make sense, but normally the Sabres HD games are shown on channel 638-1 - any one know why it's showing up on 658-1? I want to set my recording before I leave for work this morning and not tie up both tuners later if I have to add a remote recording.

No - you won't get it in Pittsburgh. It's a versus exclusive game outside BUF and DC.

The Buf / Philly Game on Friday is also listed on 658-1....

No - you won't get it in Pittsburgh. It's a versus exclusive game outside BUF and DC.

True - luckily we're in market at my parents right now so we'll avoid the Versus mess.

It just surprised me that the HD game was being broadcast on a channel other than 638-1 when the SD feed remains on 638.

My guide has it listed on 638-1 in HD for tonight. I don't think it's an exclusive VS game as it's listed on MSG's site as being on.

It was one of Versus' add on games - post olympics they added some games to their original schedule, including this one. The deal is that in the Sabres market and the Caps' market, they'll see MSG and CSN's feeds. Versus will most likely air the CSN feed.

My guide is also showing it in its normal space on 638-1 - chalk this up to a guide anomaly.

To add to this, Versus is showing two different games tonight. Most of the country is getting the Caps/Sabres game, while those in the Caps and Sabres markets will instead get the Flyers/Panthers game. Same thing is happening tomorrow, with Pens/Rangers going to most markets and Leafs/Bruins going to those in NY and Pittsburgh.

If VS were still on DirecTV, you'd see a "VS Alt" channel somewhere to accommodate for this.

So what game is being down graded to the SD only VS ALT channel. That is why you don't the NHL playoffs to be on VS DO you want your team to be SD for the playoffs?

my god this is ridiculous...so even if we have center ice we get screwed even more by not having versus.

What makes this worse is that the VS feed is the Caps CSN feed, which would have been a nice HD game if it wasn't on Vs. Sabres out of market fans can't win.:new_cussi:
