HDTV programming guide just announced an agreement between Directv and CBS where NFL ticket subscribers will receive the national game of the week in HD.

My question is will Dish's CBS-HD feed from NY offer these same games if you get the distant network feed of this channel or will they block it out. I live in Clearfield, PA and don't qualify for any locals that Dish carries so I get the national feeds out of NY; so will I get the CBS HD NFL games? Does anyone know for sure? I did get the AFC playoff games last year but I think it was hit or miss whether the WCBS out of NY games were carried on most Sundays. I think they had some Giants games, if I recall. Looking for any help in this area.

Thanks.

You will recieve the games WCBS is allowed to carry, mostly Jets. Remember in the NYC market, having 2 teams, means very few doubleheaders and national games unless in CBS's case the Jets are involved or the Jets are playing on Sun/Mon night.

Knowing DishNetwork it wouldn't suprise me if they took CBS HD off there service in order to make sure NO customers can see the NFL in HD when the could be watching mammals, fish, and reptiles on discovery HD.

ok maybe a little sarcasm there.

I believe only the games shown on WCBS or KCBS (I believe thats the calls for the LA CBS affiliate) in HD will be passed to Dish Network customers who get the CBS HD feeds.

Dish will not be switching feeds to pick up the HD feeds which are not normally shown on eaither station.

I get the NY feed from 61.5. Can I also get the 148 feed? Do you have to have another dish and do some switching? Does the LA market carry the headliner game because it has no local team? Do any of you west coast feed people remember from last year.

I do know some folks (Like Claude Grainer) who get both East and West feeds of CBS HD.

If you can see both birds then you can get both. :)

I get Both, it helps when you would rather watch the upconvert of Survivor instead of the Pvr version. And then watch friends 3 hours later.

And you can watch the Raiders, or the Jets depending on which coast you want to watch.

Does that mean that KCBS out of LA (that Dish carries in HD) normally shows Raiders games at 4 pm? What about the 1 pm eastern time games, are they shown at 10 am pst?

Is this done with the 61.5 dish or do you add another?

You add another so you can see 61.5, 110, 119, and 148 all at the same time.

Yes, 4 pm eastern normally. I usually watch nfc games, but with hd I will start watching more afc now.

Yes. Since LA has no teams in it's market, it's allowed to show double-headers and national games. Since the Raiders also are in a 2 team market, with the 49ers in San Francisco, if the 49ers are the "early" game, the Raiders are the "late" game and vice-versa unless either is on Sun/Mon night.

Last year on CBS-HD, blackout rules applied. So even if the game is on in NY or LA it might not be in your locality.
