First non-elimination leg and what a perfect time for it. Jordan and Jeff were the first ones struck with curse of clueless cabbie that should have cost them. How did Jet and Cord end up forth, was it when they took the metro to Kaiser Wilhelm instead of a cab? Beer challenge was awesome. I wonder if editing was done due to some, how to put this, lack of coordination was evident?

THose boots looked huge. A friend of mine has one but it is closer to regular Pint (maybe a 22 oz). I guess those looked close to 2 liters, which is quite a bit of beer for even two people if youa re trying to drink it as fast as possible.

THey definitely seemed to be feeling the effects by the time they got to the mat.

My wife was wondering, what if someone was an alcoholic? I figure maybe they screened them out as part of the application questionnaire.

I expect alcoholics were screened as best as possible, yes. I'd expect this to be generally true across anything reality TV related, though.

The boots did look big, but it was clear that folks were spending a fair amount of time there (10-20 minutes?) to drink the beer. The only reason to think it might be shorter is because there were not many folks there at the same time. Seemed to be a lot of separation.

Jet and Cord took the metro and it certainly cost them at least a second placed finish. But since it was a non-elim leg, I have no doubt there will be some sort of equalizer to give the last placed team a chance at staying in the race. I had a feeling that it might be non-elim when they traveled so far on that leg.

I was disapointed with the Intersection. The last time they used it, the teams arrived farther apart from each other, which left a team waiting. With this one, they all pretty much arrived with another team.

They needed to make them eat more kraut. That was nothing compared to some of the eating challenges.

I was mad this was a non-elim leg as I was hoping to get rid of at least one of the 2 dumb teams, with the remaining dumb team then being in last.

I'm looking forward to the rodeo roadblock next week! Jeez, seems like the odds favor a detour or roadblock that is not right up Jet and Cord's alley.

That being said, those cowboys are growing on me. Love the belt buckles!

I thought it was both awesome and a little freaky that he didn't lose the hat on the bungy jump.......

The cowboys have my respect and their act together.

Just like they don't come off when they are on a bucking horse or bull. All he had to do was pull it down so that the crown (the top of the hat) was actually touching the top of his head. Makes it really really snug on your head.

I think there was a tiny bit of concern on his part that it would fall off. Seemed he really, really thought it would stay on but wanted to do just to make sure ..

Back in my rodeo days I think I only lost my hat once, so I know about snugging it down...it just still amazes me that with a free-fall wind it didn't blow off.

Yeah, the snap on the first rebound after the initial jump looked pretty severe.

True but wouldn't the wind have been pushing it the opposite direction of his fall thus helping to keep it on his head?

Side note: Did you know that there is a $250 dollar fine given to the cowboy or cowgirl who loses their hat if they are in the arena?

Yeah gotta agree, I don't like sauerkraut and I could've eaten that plate w/ no problem. I was absolutely baffled that one team decided they actually couldn't do it.

Maybe the producers wanted to be sure they had enough room for all of the beer.

I'm not sure I could have eaten that kraut. I hate the stuff. I could have rocked the wasabi bomb from last time though.

Point taken about the wind....as for the fine, mine was of a non-monetary nature, and we'll just leave it at that....:D

So.... :backtotop

I'm really enjoying watching Jet and Cord. Hard to believe they dropped two places by just taking the metro instead of a cab, but that was a big contributor to what changed their position. I'd have had little problem with the kraut, which took less time than the soccer challenge (partly because the eaters didn't have to change clothes). I was surprised that the cowboys didn't drink beer, mainly one, I guess since they did finish it. :D
