I just bought a house in Pawtucket and am thinking of making the move to D* with TIVO and wonder how the reception is versus Cox? My current Cox signal is TERRIBLE (it was a lot better in Providence).

It looks like I have a clear shot to the south (where I see some neighbor's dishes pointed), how's the signal strength from the birds? I'd need the triple-LNB dish to get the locals.

Any input is appreciated.

I have D* and have no problem with signal strength . I get 80's to 100 depending on which transponder it is. . most are from high 80's to 100. I have no problem with rain fade. Maybe once or twice a year only when real bad thunder storms are close . It is for only about a minute or two. I also had cox and the picture wasn't very good.

Thanks, Hank.

That was just the kind of news I was hoping to hear. I think I am going to bite the bullet and just go for it. I'll post more and let you know how I made out.
