We have a Dish 625 DVR in Single Mode .
Up-to-date software Version: L540 .
After the most recent software update ( L540 ) the Time Available on the DVR Menue screen drifts downward as I switch channels and switch ( Swap button ) between the two tuners .
i.e. 4h 00m .... 3h 59m .... 3h 57m .... etc.
It behaves as if the dvr is not totally erasing / ignoring the data recorded from the previous channel after the channel is changed ... Or it could be a simple software glitch .
A soft reset restores the Time Available to the correct value, but then the value continues to drift lower as I watch and switch channels .
Any memory discrepancy in the dvr is of concern to me since we have quite a few recordings on the dvr .
I have tried both soft resets and hard (unplug) resets .
Thank you .

Considering the court ruling your 625 is probably going to be a paper weight soon.

Seriously? Is that your way of helping?

The point is he probably could get an answer to his problem but considering that dish is already testing DVR disable for these units...I am not really sure there is much reason to search for a fix.

No problem chief. I was just answering the questions that you directed at me though. If you don't want me to participate in public threads maybe directing the questions towards me via PM would have been a better solution?

Ive never noticed this before, it could be the channel buffer eating time before it clears the previous buffer? I assumed it had its own time for buffering however. Just guessing here.

Of course this has crossed my mind .
My concern right now is to prevent the recordings already present on the 625 from being corrupted .
If possible, I would like to disconnect the dvr from Dish before it is disabled .
Also, it is possible that Dish may receive an en banc appeal or another solution may present itself .
Any further help is appreciated .
Thank you .

To quote the dark lord of the Sith, it'll never happen. Now, back to topic.

Get a DVD recorder/player and save your recordings(that you want to save),remember a hard drive device(DVR) is never forever they go out all by themselves.
On another note I operate a 625.I have yet to see anything out of the ordinary my 625 operates 19 hours a day.
I see all the time when I go to my DVR section the time available changes, does it bother me? no but my hard drive is not almost full.
So there is your options if you want to save recordings get a DVD recorder/player a DVR is not a permanent storage device.Good Luck!:)
Also the Dish 625 with it's 2-120 minute live buffers is the most awesome DVR I have had the pleasure to use.:D
