We had a pretty severe storm here yesterday, high winds and rain. Power was out for approx 17 hours. I had unplugged the surge protectors for all DVR's and appliances as a precaution. Power has been back for 5 hours now but I am unable to get a signal on any of my DVR's. Tried the reset and it stalls at acquring satellite information. I have checked the connections to the switch and they are ok. I have eyeballed the dish alignment and it seems to be ok. I tried signal tests and get nothing on 101. I do get some fuzzy signal strength on 119 if that's any clue. DirecTV will not issue any service calls till their alert is lifted.

Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

Thanks

It sure sounds like your dish got moved a bit. It doesn't take all that much. Can you get to it? If so, try pushing it in one direction just slightly while someone checks the signal strengths. You may be able to get them to go up. If so, loosen the set screws just a little and adjust the dish in the same direction to raise the ss. It's likely the dish moves side to side as opposed to up and down. Go slowly, and good luck!

That did it thanks! It got twisted just a little bit and I lost signal. I wasn't aware that it only had to be out by such a small amount to lose signal.

Remember, a small amount off at the dish turns into quite a bit 22k miles into space.

Great job helping a poster. Guess that's why this is such a great place to visit.
