I just read on /. that SCO wants $32 for every device with embedded linux, and they specifically mentioned TIVO. Does anybody think that this will effect the 721 or 921, both of which I believe run on Linux? Any rumblings from E*?
I think that the SCO claims are unfounded, but I would hate to see the 921 delayed because of this crap.
Any thoughts?

On a personal level, I think it is all a joke - SCO is just desperate for money and trying to slowdown the growth of Linux. They have already lost the battle in Germany and hopefully the US will see it that way... Now that they are throwing threats to the goverment and with Bush in office - I hope they have some backup :D

My take on the SCO claims is that most of these issues center on enterprise level code (multiprocessors, logical volume managers, etc.), so how SCO thinks that embedded Linux systems are infringing in that market is beyond me. The whole debate is beyond me, and fortunately, it appears that most of the industry is calling bulls**t as well.
