With the appellate court ruling that Comcast can no longer hold programming hostage and with their desired merger with NBC-Universal (I hope this is blocked), I hope all of the Comcast Regional Sports Networks get carried on DirecTV.
Comcast Sports Southwest was started up back in September. Luckily, it does not have the rights to the Rockets, Astros or Big XII sports so not having it is no big deal as they are relegated to showing a lot of UH and Rice sports. I bet more than 98% of Houston have never heard of this station.
That being said, there are rumblings that the Rockets and Astros might be leaving FSN Houston when their contract expires in a couple of years and I would love to avoid the fiasco that our friends in Portland and Philly have with Comcast Sports Northwest and CSN Philly respectively. I hate Comcast with the passion of a 100 suns and never want to deal with them. I have to use them for internet since there is no other comparable ISP with their speeds in my central Houston neighborhood.

I feel for you as CSN NW has been a colossal disaster for us.
The only thing I can see is that the teams themselves would add contract provisions about access in their games from now one when they sign. I think the teams (non-Comcast owned teams) are tired of being in the silly fights Comcast picks and puts them in the middle.

Is CSN SW uplinked to a satellite? If so, it's just an issue of D* and CSN SW agreeing on a carriage agreement. I believe the issue with D* and CSN NW is that Comcast is asking for a ton of money in return for D* to carry it.
The issue with CSN Philly is that CSN Philly isn't uplinked to a satellite and therefore, using a loophole to keep the channel off of D* and E*.
