That game is included in the MMM package on 705. Why is it blacked out on 613?

I had the same issue I was watching it, but then I went back to watch agian and I got 721. I looked online and I have Xtra and according to Directv.com, it's only on Ultimate and above now.

CBS College Sports is showing the UTEP-Butler game nationwide (as they are the Texas A&M-Utah State game Friday at 5:00).
It's being blacked out in areas where the game is being shown locally. So even if it hasn't started yet, that's probably the reason for the blackout.
If you're not getting the game locally on your CBS affiliate, then they're blacking you out by mistake. I'm not having an issue here in RI, and the game's definitely not on locally.

Just last year it was moved to Choice Xtra Package why would they want to move it to a movie pack?
and why it would just trun off right at the time a game in sports ppv pack came on at the same time.

One other poster who is having a problem is from Texas, and since it's UTEP playing, he wouldn't be seeing the game on CBSCS but rather his local CBS station. So the blackout makes sense for him, obviously not for you though.
Hopefully they'll get it straightened out for those of you with issues...

No clue. I called in but the rep didn't really have an answer. She thought it was something to do with the Mega March Madness package but that game is being shown on 705. Why would 613 be blacked out because of that package? It's not like it's a RSN.
Anyone else in PA getting 721 error? Do you have MMM package?

Exactly right. The only reason it should be blacked out is if you're living in an area where the game is being shown locally on CBS. Otherwise, CBSCS has the national rights to air the game, as they do the 5:00 game tomorrow, so you shouldn't be seeing a blackout in Pennsylvania.
I'm in RI and it's on here. Tell them that, lol.

Blackout here in IA. Currently refreshing programming and resetting receiver. DirecTV would never pull a channel into a new package at 4:45p ET. Just a simple error on their end, probably a mapping error with the Mega March Madness.

Are you subscribing to the MMM package and getting it on 705 but not 613? Maybe there's some kind of conflict there or something.

No, definitely not. I don't have MMM either and it's on 613 right now.
Sounds like they probably have the wrong zip codes in their database for the blackout or something along those lines.

I was thinking that too at first, but this should be a national telecast. Unless your local CBS affiliate is going to show this, it should be available on CBS College Sports.

EDIT: If you want to watch the game now, just a reminder that you can watch all the games for free at NCAA.com. Currently watching until the game shows up on 613. Had some good rhythm last 5 minutes of play.

That can't be it. I have the Richmond-St Marys game locally on CBS and the Butler-UTEP game on CBSCS at the same time.
It's got to be an error, maybe CBS forwarded the wrong zip codes for them to black out. I'm surprised it's taking them so long to correct it for those of you still in the dark.

Yeah, it's very strange. Still dark here, but will wait until local coverage is over before I call. Very minor complaint, at least it's available online.

Haha, very true. I just have finally learned to not be angry with everything DirecTV does wrong, at least small stuff like this one game. I will be more upset tomorrow since I will have company all day. And I would like to have wall-to-wall coverage as there should be.
I have called though, might as well get as many people as we can to fix it.

They're mistaken, UTEP/Butler isn't on here. N. Iowa/UNLV just started though. WTF???

I am also in PA and was also blacked out for CBSCHD during the UTEP/Butler game even though it wasn't being shown on my local affiliate. CBSCHD is available again now.
Ridiculous.

The tournament in broken into two broadcast sessions on CBS, with a short break in the afternoon. There's always one game during that break. In the past only the locals markets got to see that game, but CBS College started showing in the past few years. Today D* erroneously blacked out the game in several markets around the county when it should have only been blacked out in the local markets showing it on CBS. I hope they don't have the same issue tomorrow.

The 5:00 "buried" games were on CBSCS last year as well. One of the reasons I dumped MMM.

I watch it online now. CBS is showing all the games for free. No games are blacked out, accidentally or otherwise. Video quality is actually pretty good. Better than staring at a black screen.
My only complaint is that you can't switch to another games once the commercials start. But if you act quickly and switch games before the commercial starts you're fine.

It appears that CBS needs the CBSCS channel resources to distribute all games in HD.
Here we go again. What's up Direct TV? Watched all day and then at 5:00pm get a 721 error.
What the hell, I thought I'd actually see if I could stand watching a full game of college basketball, and CBS College sports is blacked out. I thought this crap was solved yesterday and it was only going to be blacked out in markets where CBS itself is going to show the matinee game, and I'm pretty damned sure I dont live in one of those markets.

Rep just tells me they are only showing it on MMM Channel 705....Complete BS. They blackout channel 613 so they can sell their $69 NCAA package.
So the guy from the technical department said that the blackout hasnt been lifted because my local CBS affiliate hasnt released it yet, even tho my local affiliate is showing a cheap tabloid magazine show instead of any basketball at the moment.
F*** CBS.

I am having the same trouble in Chicago viewing the game on 613. I just talked to a Directv operator and he told me the game would be shown on delay starting at 5:45 (cst) on 613. Our local CBS is showing Judge Judy right now, so there should be no blackout issues.
Local CBS has news on. Why am I paying for this channel and then they take it away from me for 2 hours the last two days?

Perhaps each CBS market has the right to have the game blacked out in its DMA??? It would be nice if D* or CBS would set the record straight.
Local affiliates get too much control over the DMAs access to national programming to begin with. If I want to tell me local affiliates to piss off andget my network content from somewhere else, I should have that right. The only purpose local affiliates should have is for local content.
