Why does Fox Reality Channel still have guide data for fox Reality after 3/29?
National Geographic Wild starts on 3/29 but the guide still has fox Reality shows listed for 4/1 and after that.

Why not stop worrying and wait a week to see what happens to the guide? The guide is not always up to date.

I doubt it. Its been confirmed by the channel itself that its changing over on March 29. And this is the D* board not E*.

Most likely compiled by an external company like Tribune Media. You can't watch a channel that isn't being broadcast. Relax, we'll get it. Just like we got Centric after it was switched from BET J in September. The owner is rebranding it; its the same signal, just different content.

The Nat Geo Wild site said it was supposed to switch over at midnight but it didn't. No high quality educational nature programs to watch, just a bunch of mindless reality shows. i was really looking forward to this channel too.

According to the Nat Geo Wild Twitter feed, it'll switch over at 8am (I assume ET since they were responding to a person in Tampa).
http://twitter.com/natgeowild/status/11205853107
Edit:
I will also add, some of the responses they are giving to people would seem to indicate that it will not automatically be available to all providers that offered Fox Reality Channel. One person who has DirecTV was told "There is not yet WILD launch date for you, but you can request it". They also indicate that Comcast doesn't have a deal in place yet.

Their website said midnight though. Ask them what's the deal, I don't got twitter.
Why are they saying "Find out what day you'll get it or request it". I thought everyone that has Fox Reality gets it, just like everyone that had BET J now has Centric.

So if FRC is being taken down at 8 and there's no carriage deal in place for NGW, it'll just be a black screen?:mad:

Nat Geo Wild will be carried on Channel 18 on traditional Comcast systems and on Channel 165 in former Adelphia areas and on Channel 132 on Verizon's FiOS TV. Armstrong cable has no plans to carry Nat Geo Wild. As of deadline, the satellite companies were still negotiating about carriage of the channel, however both currently carry Fox Reality Channel, which would seem like the logical first place to look for Nat Geo Wild: Channel 250 on DirecTV and Channel 190 on DISH Network.

It has already switched over on some providers. They must still be providing a separate feed with FOX Reality to providers who haven't worked out a deal for Nat Geo Wild yet.

Pure speculation.. but perhaps they are contractually obligated to deliver programming for a certain period of time...?

I would assume there is a period of time by contract that D* has with Fox. And D* will take its time and decide what to do. I hope it happens soon, looks like a neat channel.

Well, according to this news item, the Fox Reality channel goes out of business on March 31, 2010..
linky (http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/358176-Fox_Reality_Channel_to_Cease_Operations.php)
I find it interesting that March 31, 2010 is also the start date of the Documentary Channel on DirecTV.....maybe I'm adding up 2+2 and getting 5, but I'm seeing a connection....and if that's the case, I believe the Nat Geo Wild negotiations were a bust.

The National Geographic Society and Fox Networks Group-owned Nat Geo Wild channel officially launched yesterday (March 29) with carriage commitments from cable operators representing nearly 40 million cable subscribers, according to Fox executives.
Nat Geo Wild -- an adaptation of an existing international Nat Geo service that will offer mostly animal-based content - will get the majority of its carriage from a takeover at the end of the month of the channel slot left by the departure of the nearly 50 million-subscriber Fox Reality Channel. In addition, Nat Geo Wild has also reached a carriage agreement with Cablevision Systems Corp., although it's unclear when the MSO will launch the channel or how many Cablevision subscribers will receive it.
Reality Channel affiliates DirecTv and MediaCom have yet to complete a carriage deal for Nat Geo Wild, although a Fox Networks Group spokesman said the network is "discussing the launch of the network" with both distributors.
"The premiere of Nat Geo Wild to nearly 40 million subscribers is one of the most successful and widely distributed network launches in cable history and clearly demonstrates the tremendous drawing power of the National Geographic brand and its content," said the spokesman.

I wonder how long channel 250 will have a continuous loop of repeated Fox Reality programming? It seems the same programs repeat every few days and has been this way since Fox Reality was discontinued at the end of March.
