I received a form letter from DISH this week informing me that they may soon be terminating my distant ABC stations (NY and LA) due to yet another recent Federal Court ruling. I live 90 miles from ANY big four network television station and have been considered in a "white" area for all the networks for the last three years I've been with DISH. I qualify for Atlanta and two distant sets of locals. I've been holding out hope for a distant net ABC HDTV channel from DISH so I can watch Monday Night Football, but I guess that's a lost cause if ABC has succeeded in blocking distant networks even in white areas. I don't see Atlanta ABC going HD on DISH in the near future, and even on top of a 2500 ft. mountain I can't get a sliver of even the analog signal OTA. What is going on here?

No details at all, unfortunately. It simply said that due to a recent Federal Court ruling they may have to stop the following services: ABC New York, ABC Los Angeles. DISH Network is appealing the ruling. That's it. No explanation. I'll probably just cancel all the New York and Los Angeles channels if I can keep CBSHD.

The same thing happened to me and my Key west address. I lost everything but CBS. Check your account at the E* web site they proably submitted waivers to the ABC station and it was recently denied. Alot more of this is going to be happening. They appear to be requalifing all of their distant net customers.

I just ran a HIAWASSEE address through E* address broker. 780 bell st 30546. it only qualifies for CBS ANd FOX.

The answer to all this is Bell Expressvu.

The answer to all this is Bell Expressvu.

Got that... but it too could go away at any time with the stroke of a regulatory pen, so I'd really prefer a locals solution through a U.S. company. It means waiting 6 months to a year more for an HD PVR as well, I'm afraid.
