I'm 50 to 55 miles away and plan to use a DirecTv HD receiver. Anything out there from Winegard that will work?

Wipeout,
Winegard makes an HD antenna for your needs. I would suggest going with a deep fringe antenna due to your distance. This antenna covers 100 mi./60 mi. VHF/UHF respectively. Here's a link.

Where are you located? I noticed you also had questions about your Directv installer. If you need any help with these installations, let me know. Hope this helps.

Either Winegard or Channelmaster are good manufacturers of TV antennas. Both make fringe area antennas what you need to provide to us is your location so we can find what you have available for TV broadcasters. In my case all broadcaster use basically the same location for their transmitters, in other markets the broadcasts come from different directions. Most Digital Broadcasters have been assigned UHF stations so you might only need a UHF antenna if that is your market. In my market 1 broadcaster was assigned a VHF channel but the other 15 use UHF so I need an antenna for both frequencies or I can forget the ABC affiliate.

Here is a link to antennaweb.org. Type in your zip and it will give you a listing of locals in your area and what type of antenna to use. You can also click the street level map and it will show you which direction to point.

If for some reason it does not give you the channels you need, type in 19106 for the zip and it'll give you a complete listing of Philly and surrounding areas.

My zip is 19606. I don't want the typical looking antenna I wanted something like the Winegard 2000.

My local stations are also about 50 miles away. I got a Sensar a few years ago, and it's been really good for analog stations. I haven't tried it on HD yet, but it would probably do just as well.
