Hello, im new to the world of HD directv, before it was fta and dishnetwork so i finally made the change im happy..or i was until this...
I currently cannot get stupid signal on some sats!!! :nono:
Rec: h21
sat: SLIMLINE 5 ((1 bbc))
Zip:39540
Sat 99(s) all zeros
Sat 99(c) high 90s
Sat 101: i get about 8 100 and the rest in the high 90s
Sat 103(s) zeros
Sat 103(ca) zeros
Sat 103(cb) zeros
Sat 110 zero
Sat 119 zero
I made sure my mast was right and my settings((directvs with zip)), at one time i did get them all and the next they they were gone without nothing being moved.
Is it my settings?
I went thru the trouble today and replace the cable just in case but nothing... please i need help, been messing with it for a week and i cannot get them back
I played with the tilt, elev and the tweaks too and nothing!!!
Any input is very welcome...

First thing first, with a SWM, you do not use BBCs. Take it off.
You can ignore 99/103(s) for the most part, those are just spot beams. You will have one or two that will be 90+ on one of them.
103ca...not yet. That bird is still testing and not home...yet.

thanks, good to know that about 103ca, also, i am sorry, its a slimline 5, not a swm5..does that make a difference with the bbc?
if im gettin 101 and 99 in really good, does that mean that my 103 is bad?((lnb))

Could be... I've got a Slimline 5 LNB in the basement with a bad 103 feed.

Have you rerun satellite setup? I seriously doubt, short of a power surge through the receiver, that you would lose 110, 119 and 103. Are you sure there isnt a tree that started getting leaves to the right of where the dish is pointed? Have you tried one of the other ports on the LNB? It should have 4 ports. Are you actually missing channels?

yeah, i am missing almost all of the HD channels((movies and cartoon chan))
As far as a something that could be blocking me, its pretty clear or the dish its pretty high.
I am starting to think that its a bad fed from the 103-110-119 because when i "got" them all, 103 would show signal but not 110/119, then i would exit setup then come back to setup again it will not show 103 but will show the rest((never had problems with 99 or 101)) but that was only once.
I reset the receiver and re-did the setup and still nothing...

Im not familiar with the stack plan they use, but its possible that all 103, 110, and 119 require the 22khz tone from the receiver to "switch" the lnb. Try this, just for grins. Remove the BBC, and see if 110 and 119 start coming in. If they do, you probably have a bad BBC.

If you are getting nothing on 110 and 119, you likely need to realign the dish. Start by making sure you are pointed at the 101 satellite, which it appears you are. Then adjust the tilt until you get a good strong signal on 119. Check 99 and 103. If they are too low, you then need to adjust the other adjustment screws on the dish. I think they are called dithers. There is a video on www.solidsignal.com that shows the whole procedure. Let us know how it works out!

Have you tried all outputs from the LNB? Maybe you are connected to a bad output.
