Can you setup picture in picture with a 2 tuner tivo? Do you have to wait for one of the new 2 room models to be able to accomplish that? Maybe it is a silly question to even contemplate pip using a Tivo!
Thanks for passing any knowledge on!

Tivo doesn't have PIP capability right now. I have Ultimatetv, which has PIP. I rarely ever use the PIP function. If your tv has PIP built in, you can set your Tivo to be one of the tv tuners and use the other for OTA, cable, or even another satellite receiver.
I really don't like PIP. I find it instructive and annoying on the 721 but it is the only way (besides recording) to get both tuners to buffer two different programs.
On the DirecTV Tivo all you have to do is press the live TV button to swap between tuners (programs). Since both programs are buffered you can easily rewind each program to see what you missed. I find that much better than having two programs on the screen. You can't hear the sound of both programs or really closely watch both screens so to me there is no advantage in using PIP.

Going from UTV to TiVo you do miss the PIP function if nothing else when you want to set a program to record or if you are watching a pre-recorded show and try the same thing. I didn't understand why may complained when they went to TiVo about not having the PIP option since I didn't use it (I thought myself). You can't do anything with the Menu w/o stopping the play of a live or recorded show. You can use the see-through guide watching live TV, but today I wanted to look @ the guide and forgot I was watching a recorded program and the program stopped! Like this new receiver but hope a future software up-date corrects this issue.

I agree Rick
I wish there was an option to at LEAST pull up the live guide while watching a recorded program.
