Hey gang. I have a question about those cable box covers the cable company uses. I currently added a switch to my exisiting system, but since then I guess the cable company put the box cover back on and now I have no idea how to get it off. Any help on how to remove this cover would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks

The most common method is to use a standard "F" connector with a 3/8x32 thread. This can be opened with a standard 7/16" deep socket. If you are unlucky, the cable company uses a terminator that screws on to the 3/8"x32 stud with a special wrench. There are basically thrre different types of terminators and wrenches. Without the soecial wrench the terminator just spins.
If it is the LID your talking about, why would you need to get into their box? Depending on the company, there are several types of lockboxes and styles of locks to go with them. We'd need a little more info. to help you but keep in mind, you are not permitted to access or tamper with the contents of their box.

Thanks for the replay guys, I was talking about the lid out back on my house. I just screw it and ripped it off. It actually came off very easily.

If they put it on your house and you do not have cable anymore as it would be shut off, then would it be your box since its on your house for you to do whatever you wanted to do with it? Was there some type of contract signed stating that you could not touch the box? I could understand if the cable service was turned on to not be allowed to tamper with it.
If its not being in use anymore and they did not take it with them then isnt there a law that states that property ends up belonging to the customer after they leave things there so long?
