Hello. I hooked up a new Insight HDTV to my 2700 Dish receiver (I know it's legacy, but worked for me...until now) Dish 500. After I hooked up the receiver worked for a few minutes (though it was on a racetrack station that I never look at). Then I turned the tv off, and when I turned it back on, I got the “blue screen of dea"..errr...that's another forum, I got the acquiring satellite signal screen...and it wont go away!

Ok, I was blinding hitting buttons on my remote control when I was setting up the hdtv, but like I said, it got a signal until I shut the tv off. I did all the usually trouble shooting, called Dish several times to get different tech who might know something different. I have two more receivers in my house, one is the exact same model as the “broken” one, and they both work fine, so it's not the dish, or the satellite...it is this particular receiver box.

Any suggestions on how to get the “signal” back, or is it broken beyond repair?

Also, advice on buying a "working out the box" Dish receiver as cheaply as possible. All help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Have you connected a known working receiver to your new TV?

Sounds like the receiver has gone bad. I recently replaced my 3700 receiver with a 322. I got a great deal on it off of ebay. Plus it is a dual tuner.
