Last night on FOX the series final Futurama aired. I was really enjoying that show once it started up on Cartoon Network earlier in the summer. I hear its on TBS in during the afternoon now.
BTW: The 2nd season DVDs go on sale tomorrow.

I thought they quit airing that show on Fox a good while back? I did hear that they did quit doing it for a while and then decided to have a final episode later on in which must have been last night.
I thought it was a good final episode, nothing spectacular, but solid.
Cool, I didn't know it was on in the afternoon. Have to start PVR'ing it. Not sure if it is on at night on cartoon network. It used to be, but recently it seems some other shows have been airing.

I was reading in TV Guide last week that Cartoon Network is thinking about signing the show on for a NEW season because of the great ratings.
Matt G said he'd be up for it. :)

I'm not surprised. The Big O was extremely popular during the original run on Toonami, so Cartoon Network co-produced the second season THREE YEARS after the first season aired in Japan.
The biggest problem with restarting Futurama is that most of the production team has been dismantled and moved on to other projects. But, it can be pulled off especailly if you figure in the DVD sales.

And technically you don't need to have the actors there at the same time to say the lines, you can have Billy west in whenever and read like 3 different srcipts, then the guy who voices "Bender" in a totally different time and voice the same 3 scripts. It may require more in the editing portion before passing to the cartoonists, but at least it is possible compared to a live action show which would be impossible to do that way. (I've seen them do behind the scenes and it seems they all voice in same room together to get more realisitic timing and interaction.)

Wow, would make you think that Fox would rethink their decision on dropping the cartoon. I think its a pretty interesting one and should be kept around for a bit longer.

Fox is pretty stuborn. They pretty much have ignored the show from day two, so any thoughts after 4 years would be a little too late. I'm sure they can find another show to cr*p on for the next few years...

This is reminding me of WB dumping a heck of a lot of shows, come out with new ones to replace them with just to get dumped again, even if they are pretty decent.

Hopefully Futurama might be revived on Cartoon Network or some other channel.

I never liked that show and I know Fox was not happy with it. Matt should just stick with the Simpsons.

Try watching it for a while, I bet you'll change your tune. Fox might not have liked it, but its given Cartoon Net their highest rating ever.
