I'm curious when the dish receiver warranty start date is.. Does it start from when you purchase the receiver, or when its activated/installed?

The warranty is started from the day you activate the system.

Buy the $2 a month extended warranty ESPICALLY if you have a PVR receiver. They fail a LOT:(
