First off, this is a great receiver. One question though. My hookup is regular coax from receiver to tv and also s-video. If I want to watch OTA locals and I turn the Satellite on, I get snow. My question is what button on the remote to I push to clear up the snow while watching locals and then hit tv/video to go to satellite. On my old Hughes when I turned the satellite on while I was watching locals I would get snow, but I would hit Sat button and then input and the snow went away. Then if I wanted to watch satellite I would hit input and I could toggle between locals and satellite. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Power button takes away all the snow. Just turn the box off when you are watching OTA locals. Sorry, I don't know where the button is on the Samsungs. Look for something marked "antenna" or "input" on the remote.

You can also just run the antenna coax straight to the tv and use the S-video connection for satellite. Also, you can run a composite cable to a VCR. That way if you want you could record something off satellite while watching something else OTA.
Can also use similar setup for 2 tuner PiP if your tv is equipped.

I agree it is a very nice receiver. I used to lease a Hughes B series receiver and it worked the way you described. The only problem was that it generally took me a couple of minutes of fiddling to switch between the satellite and OTA signal. I suspect that the fact that I only watched OTA during the Football season was a big part of the problem. I actually found it easier to just turn the receiver off.

The Samsung doesn't work that way (MY Dishplayer didn't either so I guess I'm used to it). To pass through the OTA signal, just turn the receiver off. The TV/Video button, rather than switching the satellite receiver inputs between OTA and satellite, in fact switches the inputs on the television, with my Sharp, cycling between Channel 3 and Inputs 1 or 2.
