Recently had new installation of a 722, HD feed is in the living room and the SD feed is in our bedroom via the coax.

I am getting TONS of audio static on the TV2 rendering it basically unwatchable due to the severe audio static.

The picture looks fine. I had this same TV, Samsung 730MW, hookedup with my former 622 via the same method, in another house. There was a tiny bit of audio static/feedback then but it was nearly indiscernible.

I've tried changing all the different modulators options from air/cable and channels, but no luck. Nothing helps, tried all the options with my TV set as well.

Any further ideas/suggestions?

You may have a ground loop, which is caused by incorrect power wiring in the home. That's the most common reason, with the second-most-common reason being a failing tuner in the TV set. Of course, no one ever wants to hear that, but you can "prove" it by buying a cheap RF modulator and hooking it up to another source (DVD player, etc.) and running it through the tuner. If you get static that way, it's the TV.

Or you could connect a short coax to TV1 and see if the distortion shows up.

I'm not familiar with your receiver, but... can you try a different TV Channel? Make sure the TV and receiver are on the same channel.

The audio is a subcarrier of the RF TV signal. If you are getting static in audio, then the audio subcarrier may be too weak. A bad TV channel modulator? The cable is too long? Make sure you use good quality RG6 cable, and not some cheapier RG59. And last but not least, maybe there is a problem with your TV receiver.

Can you take a TV close to the receiver and connect a shorter cable and see if you still have static?

Someone else suggested a ground loop, but that would normally cause a 60 cycle humm, not necessairly static, but I guess anything is possible.

Thanks for responses and suggestions, not sure if this had anything to do with it, but this past Monday we got home turned on the TV and a blank/black screen, receiver on, nothin....reset, booted up, worked for apprx. 5 mins and then the screen went green, reset it, worked for 3 mins screen froze and it rebooted itself. Then went into some "boot recovery" screen, took about 20 mins rebooted, 3-4 mins. in the unit crapped out again.

DISH RA'd, I should have my replacement today...I wonder if my static problems will be fixed...I hope so.

If the new rcvr doesn't work, try a different modulator channel #. Years ago I had the same issue and just changed the tv2 channelnumber from 73 to say 80, 85, etc. Whether the output from the rcvr on channel 73 was bad or not, the problem went away. :icon_cool :icon_cool :icon_cool
