What is currently available at 148 degree location programming wise. Is that going to change and how soon.
I currently have two dishes one with 119/110 and a side satellite location of 148. These are currently connected to a SW64. The SW64 is working fine and have had no problems at all with it. Are there any advantages of switching to a DPQuad or DPTwin/DP34 now.
I currently have 3/508's and one 4900 upgraded version receiver on my account. If I were to go to Dish Pro I know that I would need to have a Legacy to Pro adapter for the 4900 upgraded model, but I also plan to take the 4900 out of service and replace it with a 508.

Don't know whether it would have any real advantages or not, to speak of. What are your current thoughts.

Programming on 148 probably won't change for a year or more. If you change to DishPro you'll have to get at least a Twin and Single LNBF with 3:4 switch for your configuration.

You'll have to have DishPro to see 105 and/or 121, so you'll need it to see any new HD or International channels added after October 1st. DishPro uses bandstacking technology and DiSEqC switching, which works over longer cable lengths, so you can string more cable with less effect by the drop in voltage. I get higher signal strength numbers with my DishPro set-up than I did with my quirky SW64. It's easier to add receivers beyond four if you have DishPro because you can add one or two more 3:4 switches.

On the other hand, if you can hold off until next year there will be a new DishPro Plus 4:4 switch that will be compatible with legacy receivers without an adapter and will let you add 105 or 121 without losing 148.
