A buddy of mine is getting blacked out of Twins games on 641 and Royals games on 646 and 648. He's in Des Moines, Iowa. Is this happening to anybody else? He said he couldn't watch the Twins game tonight because he was getting "program not available in your area" on Fox Sports North (641). I thought Des Moines was in the clear for six different MLB teams:
Cubs, White Sox, Twins, Brewers, Cardinals and Royals.
His zip is 50315.

I don't know why he would be blacked out. I know that the Twins game in my area was on Fox Sports Net North's Channel but it wasn't Fox Sports Net North Actually Carrying the Game. It was Minnesota's Forty 45 Channel. Does this have anything to do with it not being available in Iowa?

Update: Tonights game between the Royals and Twins wasn't available on the Royals Network or RSTN on Direc Tv. It was only available on channel 641. Channel 646 wasn't available on my program guide and Channel 648 had a Seahawks-Colts Preseason Football game on only to folks available in the Seattle Area. The Football game was blacked out in my area.

Another update: The Twins won the game tonight 9-2 over K.C.

Sunday August 17th. Todays Twins-Royals Game from Kansas City should have been available to people with Direc Tv in the Kansas City Area Only on Direc Tv on RSTN. The game was seen on MLB Extra Innings on the Twins Network of Fox Sports Net North Channel 641 to everyone else in the country who subscribes to MLB Extra Innings.

Thanks for the info. He told me he actually got the game on both RSTN and FSN North today. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow with the Royals on RSTN and the Yankees on YES.

Tonights Royals @ Yankees game is available on YES in my area and blacked out on channel 648 which would be the Royals Broadcast of the game. They are Playing the Yanks in New York and Will more than likely be available on YES throughout the remainder of this series. YES Network and the Yankees has dominance for some reason to be aired by the New York Broadcasters.

Msguy,

What area are you in? He got the Royals/Yankees game on RSTN. It was blacked out on YES in Des Moines. So far, the Royals games are starting to come on when they're supposed to. I'll ask him what happens when the Twins are on tomorrow.

Mike P. I live in Mississippi. I am in the Atlanta Braves home Television Market and Get Braves games on Turner South, TBS Superstation, Or Fox Sports Net South. I don't live in The Royals or Twins Market. But the Other day when the Twins were Playing In K.C. They allowed the game to be shown on Fox Sports Net North and Blacked out RSTN the New Channel for the Royals on DTV. I wonder why they let the road teams broadcast crew which was the Twins air instead of airing the hometown call of the Royals on MLB Extra innings. It's making me wonder if RSTN is only going to be available to people in the Kansas City Royals Television Market? Just a Note. The Royals are Playing the Yankees in New York. So YES network will be carrying the games the next couple of days on MLB Extra Innings to everyone in the country who subscribes to MLB Extra Innnings Unless you live in K.C.'s Home Television Market. That's the way it's been most all season. The Yankees Network when they are playing has top priority when it comes to the broadcast. Even when the Yanks are on the road. They've been Blacking out The teams the Yankees have been playing and only been able to see YES Yankee Games. The Exact Same thing Goes for Boston Red Sox Games. Every Game Boston Plays on MLB Extra Innings is Usually Always On NESN whether it be a Home game or a Road Game for Boston. :nono:
