After along day on the road with a breakdown on top of everything I finally made it to BB after looking I finally decided on the Mits. 48 hdtv hooked it up ran for 4 hours and then the screen turned blue you could still barely see the picture and the audio was fine since its new I get in home service but the dealer is along way away Should I ask for a new TV or let him fix this one I assume its 2 of the guns went bad. Or do I have that option I have found that once a lemon it seems to stay that way for the life of the product

Read your mfr's and store's warranties to find out what recourse you have.

Was this mits a new OOB tv?

Yes it was new OOB I called and they said they would send a tech to my house but I need to check on options for a new one of fix this one Just wondering if this problem was unusual.

That's funny, my Mit (1.5 yrs old now) convergence just went wacko this week. Fortunately, I have the extended warranty and they are going to look at it Monday.

I would say that a complete failure in 4 hrs is just a wee bit unusual. My 32" is coming up on 8,000 hrs and my 27" is well past 15 yrs & looking pretty darn good.

If you have only had it 4 hours, I would certainly return it and get another set!

As I posted on your other thread, my mits has been running 14+ years.

A one day failure should be taken back by the retailer and just returned to the manufacturer and the retailer should bring out a new set for you.

Yes, I agree. Doesn't BB have a 15-30 day return policy? As an afterthought, does BB still have that unpleasant 15% "restocking" fee?

Dont know for sure about the restocking fee, probably. The main problem with returning it is the store is 4 hours away. As far as in home service its not a reality in rural america. I am still looking into service somewhere or making the long trip back I will keep everyone posted as to what I do and how this turns out

I used to work for BB.

They will exchange it for free.

They may try to charge you for the delivery fee, just ask to talk to the manager and he will make it right if they do.

You must make this call right away same day or next though and tell them you are not happy with the delivery so you are covered under the company delivery policy.

I decided to get the TV fixed since the store is 4 hours away From what i understand from the tech It was an IC chip that the blue gun plugged into The part is 3 days away and I hope to have it by saturday but probably next week I also preordered the Digital video essentials to try to get the most out of my 48 in . Mitsubishi I hope this is the last time it sees a shop for many years.
