Thanks everyone for being patient with me today on getting the new server up and running. I was up at 4am this morning and was hoping to be done by 6am but there was a little problem that held things up practically the whole day. Luckily it worked out and everything seems to have transferred over intact.

When people starting visiting again, I was watching the load on the system. With over 100 visitors, the load was 75% less than it was on the old server. That is quite considerable and gives us plenty of head room for large amounts of people to view and post in the forums.

Again, thanks for sticking with me today and giving the forums a good workout after the move. We are now ready for a bright future here at DBSTalk with lots of speed and room for everyone. Take care and have fun!

Hey Chris --

Quick question -- what OS is running on the machine? a *nix derivative or windows?

Here's what I'm guessing:

Linux (since it's the ISP's machine, I'm guessing Red Hat)
Apache 1.3.xx
PHP 4.3
MySQL (sorry I'm a postgresql guy hehe) 4

How far off am I? :)
