For the first three months of my service, I have not had one problem. For the past three weeks, I have had on and off again issues with acquiring a signal for certain channels. Today, I cannot get any channel on any odd transponder but all the channels on the even transponders. What's going on? I intially thought the problems were associated to those listed by other New Englanders over the past few weeks (DTV's sat switchover) or to the horrible weather we have had over the past three weeks, but now I am starting to worry that it may be my own equipment. I have a Hughes HDVR2 with a round dish. What could be causing periodical signal loss on only the odd transponders? Help!
Standard answer check cables and fittings for water intrusion/corrosion.
do you have a multiswitch and dual lnb? I had this problem once when I was combining two dishes to a multiswitch for HD. I turns out each dish needed a dual LNB into the switch then both odd and even transponders came on for some reason.

Whew...I solved the problem! The bad weather we have had over the past three weeks knocked my dish out of alignment. It was sunny today so I went up on the roof and tweaked the dish position. All channels are back now. I am still confused why only the negative transponder number channels were affected? I don't understand how a sat system works enough to theorize why this occured.
