dvr via ehd on vip211 not working anymore

Hello,

I disconnected my HDTV from the component input on the vip211 several days ago and connected an analog tv to the tv coax output since I temporarily took the HDTV to another location.
When I reconnected the HDTV, the DVR function via External Hard Drive does not work. When I press the DVR grey button on the remote control, nothing happens. No light bars that move when the hard drive is accessed are seen on the Western Digital 500GB hard drive. Should I power down the system and restart?

Has Dish disabled the DVR's?

I powered the vip211 and hard drive down for several minutes, restarted both via power on, no change the dvr button on the remote does nothing when pressed. Remote is in SAT mode.

I powered off the ehd, unplugged the usb, powered on the ehd, connected the usb, rcvr asked did I want to use the ehd, vip211 rebooted, works now

Cool glad you have it working again,FYI swapped out a defective 211k unit when new unit arrived activated it without the drive connected,Then connected the USB drive and restarted the 211 unit,It ask me if I wanted to use the EHD ,To my surprise all the old HD/SD recordings were still on the drive and all played perfectly.

I had read in other places the recordings would be lost in the process.
