I have a 6000, 508, a 3900, a Dish 300 (61.5), a Dish 500 with a legacy quad lnb and a SW21 switch to combine the 61.5 to the Dish 500 lead for the 6000 receiver.

I hope to get a Superdish installed in mid to late September. What type of lnb and/or switches will I need with it to provide programming to my 3 receivers?

I also wonder if Dish is going to give us a trade-in value for the items they take (Dish 300, 500, legacy quad lnb, etc.). I just bought the legacy quad lnb for $150 when I bought the 508 for $200 a few months ago. I have about $1,250 in my Dish equipment ($850 for the HD setup). I just don't want to keep sinking money into hardware every time they add new HD channels. Directv doesn't require this type of investment. I also wonder if they might have a promo for upgrading the 6000 to a 911?

Any answers or thoughts?

Where are you going to get a SuperDish in mid to late September?

Dealers are not even being trained on how to install the SuperDish until late September.

Anyone hoping for a "promo" to upgrade from a 6000 to a 811 or 921 is dreaming.

Anyone hoping for a "promo" to upgrade from a 6000 to a 811 or 921 is dreaming.

And not only that, but what will Dish do for me given that my 5000 receiver will become a large paper weight once I install a Superdish. Dish has already stated that the 5000 will NOT be supported by the Superdish, even with a legacy adapter. While I'm at it, not only will the 5000 become a piece of junk, but given that the 921 will not be out for a long time, and if I want to maintain my current setup, I'll have to get an 811 to use in one room to replace the 5000 and than either than unit or by 6000 will become an extra unused unit once I get a 921. All in all, Dish is making a very costly mess of this entire process.

If they would just put the new HD channels on exisiting birds until the beginning of the year or until they release the 921, this whole HD process would be so much easier and palatable.
