Today we had very bad weather and the screen got pixilated which is normal during bad weather. I have signal in the 80's and 90's. However when the screen got pixilated the 722 just rebooted itself and came back up without any issues after that.
Is this normal or do I have a bad receiver.

Possibly an anomaly, but Dish software isn't exactly predictable when it has to perform error recovery.
My 722K did the same thing a few days ago. Lost signal due to rain fade with the usual screen apprearing , I went into the kitchen to do a couple of things, came back a few minutes later and the screen showed the DISH logo with the message "starting up" in the lower right quadrant.
After it did it's thing all was just fine.
