It is Food Network, or rather, its new sister channel. The owner killed Fine Living and launched the Cooking Channel in its place.

If I am not wrong. Food network owned fln in the first place. So they are only competing themselves.
Yes ---- FLN went dark on memorial day and was replaced by The Cooking Channel.
You can read about it here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooking_Channel
And -- I like this bit from the FLN network : Fine Living Network signed off for the last time on May 31, 2010 at 5 AM EST. The last thing shown was a sequence depicting the Grim Reaper walking to a house's front door, holding a piece of paper with the FLN logo on it, and ringing the doorbell before a cut to black.[3] (From the wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fine_Living).
I watched an hour of so of the Cooking Channel. They are trying to make it more of an instructional channel (and less game-show ... like Food Network has become). A lot of the Food Network chefs are going to have shows on the Cooking Channel. I would not really say that Cooking and Food are going to compete too much. It seems as if Scripps is moving the actual "how-to" portion over to Cooking ... and keeping all of the other stuff on Food.
I was not very impressed with one of the shows I watched. There were talking about making soda at home ... and it was pretty unbearable to watch. Any amateur kid with a home video camera could have done a better job.
I am going to miss some of the shows on FLN. Luckily, "Three Sheets" is on Travel now. But, I did like watching the old reruns of Iron Chef (the old Japanese ones).
