If I opt for MRV, would ethernet perform fine vs. deca. I'd like to keep my OTA diplexed, so I don't have to run a new line from my attic to my living room 2 floors below.

That really depends on a lot of factors. With a decent router and all wired connections, you might be ok. With wireless or powerline anywhere in the mix, I wouldn't recommend the ethernet route.

All wired. When I built my house in 04, I wired the entire house for ethernet. Cisco routers and access points.

I tend to think you're one of the few people for whom MRV would work well over Ethernet then.

just remember, Deca takes the traffic load for the streaming of the audio/ Video off of the router, and running ethernet cables does not.

Something to consider, since my son is usually xbox gaming, and some else is usually connected with a computer / i touch / or laptop.
