"Globally, advanced video traffic, including 3D and HD TV,
is projected to increase 13 times between 2009 and 2014.
By 2014, 3D and HD video (will) comprise 42 percent of
total consumer Internet video traffic worldwide." - Cisco
From MediaBizcom (www.mediabiz.com):Cisco's latest Visual Networking Index (VNI) shows global internet traffic increasing more than fourfold by 2014 with video dominating the traffic. According to the Cisco number crunchers, video will exceed 91% of global consumer IP traffic by 2014 with video traffic zooming past peer-to-peer traffic by the end of this year. "By 2014," says the analysis, " it would take more than two years to watch the amount of video that will cross global IP networks every second; to watch all the video crossing the network that year would take 72 million years."
