Report: Dish will add Pursuit Channel in January 2011

According to Ammoland.com, Dish will begin carrying the Pursuit Channel (outdoors, not police chases) beginning in January 2011. Ammoland says it's currently the only hunting/fishing channel in DirecTV's most basic package.

The report mentions this in passing; it's mostly about Dodge Ram Trucks signing an advertising contract with Pursuit. There's no mention of why Dish would delay adding the channel, and I couldn't find anything about it in the news section of the Pursuit web site. (And I couldn't find anything posted here about it lately.)

It will be a nice welcomed addition to WFN, Outdoor Channel, and SMC

I am so happy to learn of Dish Network carrying Pursuit Channel. I love their programming. With the Dish Network addition I believe the article says they will be in over 40+ million homes! That makes them the biggest Outdoor Network by far. I think Outdoor Channel is in about 34 million homes, and Sportsman's is in about 20+ million. I had formerly invested in Outdoor Channel stock and it has been tanking and I have lost a lot of money. Their new savior, Roger Werner, has dropped the stock from $13.00 to just $5 in his 3 years at the helm, and they keep lining their pockets with multi-million dollar compensation packages.

What do they know about the outdoors except how to profit from it? Outdoor Channel is going through another round of layoffs as we speak. Werner has promised full carriage on Dish Network and Direct TV for years in their investor calls and has not been able to do this.

With Pursuit Channel sucessful getting full distribution on both Direct TV AND Dish Network, watch them leapfrog ahead of everyone else and get the remaining best shows in 2011! As a true midwest outdoorsman I am so excited for Pursuit Channel!

They have already been Moved, had to change some timers, and thanks for the update, James.
I wonder if this means we will be getting the Outdoor Channel in HD soon as well?

Dish Earth has moved to channel 287, seems to be something going on. Could be some good news soon again.
