Dish Questions on E-14 and Spotbeams in NW

We use the Dish Network in areas that are at the limits of the coverage area maps in the NW. I have some questions:

1. Is the new E-14 satellite operational? Will it increase the signal strength for 119 general non HD programming when operational?
2. What signal strength on the receiver built in meter is considered normal? We used to get much higher signal strengths.
3. It appears that spot beams for the Seattle area for the 119 satellite have mostly moved to spotbeam 5 for Seattle locals. Last year we were seeing signal strengths much higher on the locals on spotbeam 1 for Seattle locals. What has changed and will the E-14 satellite change them again?

Yes it is operational, seems to have increased signal strength

2. What signal strength on the receiver built in meter is considered normal? We used to get much higher signal strengths.

Need a model number to answer that. The newer VIP receivers will not show as high as an older receiver, their scales are calibrated differently

Again - if you have changed receivers - you're going to see different meter readings. If you had a comparison of just before the swap and the new numbers with the same model receiver - then you would see any differences.

What has changed and will the E-14 satellite change them again?For the second half of that question ... E-14 is operational and E-7 is out of service. Whatever effect E-14 "will" have on coverage area should already be seen. What you see today shouldn't change.

We saw an immediate 10-15% increase in signal on 119 the day E14 went in, and meters easily hit 100% in signal quality (BER) for 110 and 119 now. 129 still reads a bit weaker compared to the other two, but it reads stronger closer to the center of the country.
