Why does Dish not turn off the Alt channels like DirecTv?

They do not show up on the channel list on Direct until something is actually on.

It is much simpler to leave them on and not get a possible hiccup which occurs when some channels are added or deleted on The DISH Network system.

It also allows one the check several days in advance for some events, not all.

You can STILL do this on D* - they come up in the guide in the time block where there actually IS an event... ;) ;) ;)

Yeah, sometimes they do and they cause other channels to jump around on the screen. Confuzing at times. :D

This is my biggest personal gripe from when I switched from D to E last year.


For some reason it drives me insane to have a bunch of channels with nothing on them.

Can you not just make a favorites list without those?
