I read a remark in the forums that the 129 sat now has "greater power" and reaches a far bigger footprint. Is this true?
I live in western burbs of Philly and need to either (a) swing my 61.5 dish to 129 or (b) my 110-119 to 72.7 for new HDs. Latter is a crapshoot due to trees next block over and had to put 61.5 up years ago because 129 signal was awful this far east.
Any help would be appreciated. And thanks.

The current satellite at 129 went into service in February 2009 ... If your problems were before then you should see improvement from the new satellite.

However Philadelphia HD channels are only on 61.5 --- so if you change to 129 you will lose your HD locals via satellite. If you have good OTA reception this may not be a problem for you.

Yes, I know about HD locals but I have to have Comcast due to Philly RSN so that isn't a problem. Thanks for the info.

I would say it has less power this past week. Had a lot of drops on only the 129 channels. Guess I gotta climb up and tweak the dish a bit.
